Voiceover and ElevenLabs

Generate Voiceover

Record onto Mic after the fact if the first pass was messy. Use Record Voiceover (⌥⌘R). It lands at the playhead.

Or generate:

  • Mac voices: no key. Choose Generate Voiceover and pick a system voice.
  • ElevenLabs: paste your API key in Settings → Voice & Captions. Generate onto the Mic track. The same key unlocks cloud captions and SFX/music in Assets.

Why use ElevenLabs for voice

Mac voices are fine for a quick scratch track. ElevenLabs is better when the narration has to sound finished:

  • Large voice library — many natural speakers, languages, and styles instead of a short system list
  • More natural delivery for product demos, ads, and tutorials
  • Same key for captions — use cloud transcription when Apple Speech struggles, without a second setup

That traffic goes to ElevenLabs, not to MoreFrame. Default captions stay on-device unless you choose ElevenLabs.
