Add captions
- Choose Transcribe (it becomes Re-run after the first pass).
- Pick the engine:
- Apple Speech (default): runs on your Mac, no API key, good for clean studio mics.
- ElevenLabs: paste your key in Settings → Voice & Captions. Stronger on accents, soft speech, and noisy screen recordings, and it usually needs fewer fixes before Place.
- Choose Place. Switch the menu to Add if you want a new set stacked above captions you already have.
- Select a caption clip. Set Max words so the line stays short.
- Pick a word style: highlight, karaoke, or underline.
Change packing later. The track recuts. You do not start transcription over.
Why use ElevenLabs for captions
Apple Speech is free and private. ElevenLabs is optional cloud speech when the native pass leaves gaps:
- More accurate transcripts on real walkthroughs — room noise, laptop fans, and less-than-perfect mics
- Fewer manual fixes before you Place and pack the lines
- Same key as voiceover and Assets SFX/music — one Settings paste unlocks all three
Audio you send goes to ElevenLabs under your account, not to MoreFrame. Leave Apple Speech selected when you want everything to stay on the Mac.
